you should just be able to plug the PC into one of the ethernet ports on the router, and the xbox should go into a seperate ethernet port. | |

How do you mean topshot? the ethernet cable i have connects into the back of my router and goes to the Xbox. | |

plug an ethernet cable from router staright to Xbox. forget the PC. then just power up the 360 and the router and the 360 should be given an IP address. | |

I know i asked before etc but i finally managed to hook up to live via plugging an ethernet cable into the back of my router and using the connection that is on my PC. |
