i have plugged the CAT5 cable which came with the XBOX into the PC, and bridged the networks but i lost ALL internet connectivity on the PC, i've had to remove the bridge to get back online.

does the XBOX need a static IP Address this way? my PC is using a static IP Address

just highlight your active wireless netconnection, highlight your ethernet connection and right click when both of them are highlighted, then click "bridge connections", plug your xbox in and test your connection settings should work.

if not you might need to tweak connection settings on xbox but thats not hard either.

Dont even need a crossover cable, XBOX 360 has autosensing capability and will change its port to eliminate the need for a crossover cable.

how do i set it up? is it fairly simple?

all i need is a cross over cable going from my PC to the XBOX hardware wise?

yup however, dont use internet connection sharring, its not the best way to do it with wireless.

just set up a bridge between the wireless network card and the ethernet card, job done.

internet sharing will have to set a static ip though on the xbox

I have an XBOX 360 and PC in my room, my PC is running wireless and i have a spare network card (wired).

Would i be able to use the spare network card and a crossover cable to use my internet connection on the XBOX through the PC?

I dont partically wanna spend £60 on a wireless card, and my old dear won't allow me to run the cable from downstairs up to my room

Cheers
