Cheeky as fuck if you ask me! Without even asking!!

It's a lot less bloated than WMP11.

It asked me, but it honoured my previous choices.

it does ask you in the setup.

it depends if you do the 'An Update is Available thing' via Media Player 10, or if you download the x86 install binaries...

Update via MP10 = No option
Download & Install yourself = option

I downloaded via the autoupdate and got the options to choose what files I wish to asscoiate with WMP11 during the install process

Didn't ask me, but then I did have problems - caused a crash when i was updating. On the restart, I opened iTunes as usual and it told me it wasn't the default player anymore.

Must have been the problems with installing that caused it.

it will ask you somewhere and the box will be ticked by default as you have found out.

i think it is default in setup. You should have un-selected all of them.

You can still change file associations any time you want. right hand click on the file and choose the application to open it.

Winamp is better and much easier to use than Media player, so i'd be a little bit miffed, not difficult to change the associations back tho, just a pain in the arse

Thats not really the point tho, it does it without asking which is wrong.
