ye you can take control, it opens a big window with his desktop etc and u just control his mouse n shit and can do everything like that. Nice way to do things if you cant be assed to go round and do it. Under actions or something in msn it has application sharing, get him to ask you for it, then it will ask him to give permission for you to control his pc.

take over his PC using the application sharing through MSN :P saves you driving to his house, i do it all the time, proper lazy :P

sorry i aint been much help, i aint done it for ages and cant remember off my head, but if he has 4, you might need to right click one that says about bridge or something, i cant remember the name, i have like 4 showing in my network connections but only one is connected

I only had 1 to begin with, I right clicked this and changed the sharing options. Turned the 360 on, did the tests, connected to Live and then a Local Area Network connections also appeared

Mate says he has 4 connections, 1 of which is active and working (the wireless one).

I think I need to take a look for him as I was trying to guide him through it on MSN last night and he was getting lost

Thanks for the suggestions though, will give it a try.

ah i get ya now. In network places bit in the network connections is there more than one showing? to get to mine i used to have to right click the bridge bit i think to get them options, not sure as im not at home, but i think you might find it if you right click one of the other options in the network connections

here's the scenario.

At home, I'm running the 360 to the laptop (wired) which then connects to the net wirelessly via a router. I did the tests on the 360 and it failed on IP address and was told I have to enable ICS on the laptop so that it would automatically assign IP addresses. This fixed the problem.

My mate has exactly the same setup but he doesn't have the options to share his internet connection.

when you go through a router you dont set it to share the connection do you? it just all goes to the router, if your using wireless on laptop what are u using on the pc? you can get the wireless adaptor for 360 and have it plugged in so you can connect to your router without un plugging laptop etc.

you only share the connection if your using a crossover cable between 2 pcs dont you? as one would connect straight to the net and the other would be sharing it through that comp.

not 100% sorry, i hate networking :(

:boggle:

Laptop connects wirelessly to a router. I've tried going through the network setup wizard but it still doesn't give me the options I need to share the connection :boggle:

Trying to get Xbox Live when plugging it into the laptop. Mine works fine
