not sure er something like £400 - £500 its canny expensive, tis £80 on contract.

tbh if your looking for the cheaper option one of these should work great, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3G-UMTS-HSDPA-GPRS-EDGE-Mobile-Laptop-Data-Connect-Card_W0QQitemZ260057465237QQihZ016QQcategoryZ96912QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

just stick a payg sim card in it.

2 gig limit on it, if you dont exceed the limit they wont do n e thing, although techincally your not meant to use it for that, however, i have been using it for month as long as your not downloading things and just using it for net its fine.

Also if he got it i would have suggested using there web and walk pro package which is specifically desgined for modem usage.

you may be lucky and find an unsecured wireless network around?

You can't connect a laptop to the Vario and use the internet, its a breach of the fair usage policy.

3G is great when you can get 3G i would check if the area your in has 3G first otherwise you could be connecting at 56k or less.

numerous ways you can do it, easiest way is using your mobile as a modem however this can be slow and expensive, if your going down this route i suggest getting a "vario 2" mobile on t-mobile as its free internet and it runs at 1.8meg through your phone, no wires very easy to set up.

Or you can get a data connet card from most phone providers, its simply a card you stick into your laptop and it lets you access the net, last time i checked it was about 15 per month for the net access and not sure how much to buy the card.
