Stand-alone MPEG-4 (DivX, XviD...) Player Buyers Guide

A dvd with divx capability can play other formats too, it's normally stated on it.

Divx/mpeg/Xvid 4 means it will play avi movies depending on the DVD player you buy.

yes you can convert avi to divx, google for it

divx runs on both (CD and DVD) but a cd is enough to hold a 700MB movie with excellent encoding quality

so you can get 6 high quality movies encoded in divx format on a DVD

the usb drive is for everything...

right... a dvd player with divx. does this mean it only runs .divx files? is there such a thing? they wont run .avi files right!? is there a way of converting avi to divx. and... divx runs off cds doesnt it, not dvds?

ive seen some dvd players with usb drives. if i was to put a .avi file on to a usb pen drive, and connect it to the dvd player, would it actually run the video? or is the usb drive mainly just for music and pictures?

thank you please :)
