are you on XP Home? if you are, try starting up i safe mode and setting the Guest password to anything you like. you need to install tweakXP with the User Accounts 2 function. this seems to be a major gripe with the XP Home software. also double check that if you are using ICS, that the DNS suffix in the TCP/IP advanced settings are appended with your ISP's host name. you can find this out by going to a command prompt and typing IPCONFIG /ALL. this will display your ISP's DNS suffix. u2u me if you need help

I've got a USR wireless router you can buy, cost me £80 a couple of years ago, will swap it for a 360 game or £30 + postage. Works good but has to go cos the Mrs can't stand the look of it on the mantle piece with wires hanging out the back :(

If i were you, i would sell your Thomson or whatever router and get a complete setup from a good manufacture like Belkin, Linksys etc.

right i presume you have a computer thats permantly wired to the router?

you can either use another ethernet cable to connect the laptop/pc.

have you installed the software for the wireless on both the wired and wireless computers? i'd remove everything and start over mate

get the wired pc setup so it uses the router to access the net. you then need to find the IP address of the router (i think cosmo got it) type that into the address bar, it should show a page with all the routers settings
