driver issue, welcome to hp reliability

system recovery disc will get rid of any work on it, but tbh if you cant even boot the system then there is no real way to get at it unless

take out hdd from laptop
plug into a 2.5" hdd to usb thingy
access the hdd on another pc to get the work off

Also, the laptop is only about a month old, and running XP. Never had the problem before now.

My GF has just rang me and said when she turned her laptop on she got a message saying that Windows has not loaded properly. And something about it may be down to recent changes you've made, power cut or Windows being reset.

It gives the option of choosing to load windows normally, before recent changes, safemode, safemode with networking, etc. but when she chooses any of them it just comes back to this same screen.

She hasnt made any changes to any of the settings recently, and only ever uses it for doing her Uni work and on the net. She has tried turning it all off, taking battery out all simple stuff like that but still getting the same error.

Anyone any ideas?
