i take it the HDD is partitioned into 2 disks? if so if you have XP you can just install a new copy on the C: but keep all the data safe on D: | |

what laptop is it? She may be able to do a system rescue/recovery. | |

Also, the laptop is only about a month old, and running XP. Never had the problem before now. | |

My GF has just rang me and said when she turned her laptop on she got a message saying that Windows has not loaded properly. And something about it may be down to recent changes you've made, power cut or Windows being reset. |
