here's what you could do. i worked for tesco broadband technical support last year so know the tricks as such.

1. if you want to cancel within 12 months a fee applies but in their t&c's it says if you move home and they can't provide broadband at the new address there is no charge.

so if you went with them when you say you are moving just give a postcode that cannot receive broadband.

2. if the account holder dies then a family member can call up and cancel without a cancellation fee.

tesco used to ask for a copy of the death certificate but they realised it was not a good customer practice.

(it was a year ago so terms may have changed but thats what was done when i worked there)

those are your tesco options!

virgin has a 50 cancelation fee although when i cancelled as was moving house they waived the fee and the bloke did say that if you move and no longer need it they dont charge 50
how long is your wait for sky bb as we have been quoted 5-6 weeks nother 4 weeks to wait yet 56k dial up so crap lol

This Agreement shall come into effect on the Agreement Date and shall continue in full force and effect for the Initial Period and thereafter for successive 12 month periods unless and until terminated in accordance with Clause 11 of these Conditions or such other Clause as may be applicable in the circumstances.

Pretty sure Orange broadband was/is monthly, not sure about any cancellation charges etc.. tho

i went to sign up for virgin and it only said it on the last page before it took payment

no 12 month contract so no cancellation fee + free modem and activation

you just need to give 30 days notice for cancellation

(its a monthly contract)

Im on waiting list for this free sky broadband so im after a connection until it comes through. Does anyone know any companies where you dont have a 12 month contract and there isn't a cancellation fee? :wave:
