scalable link interface - it allows 2 graphics cards to share the processing load, therefore in theory doubling the power. In SLI both cards need to be indentical, crossfire however can be any ATI card and it has one has the master and one as the slave.
Both are good concepts but imo there are better motherboards that support SLi.

ATI's version of SLI in a round about way.
it has the potential to be better then SLI in manny ways.
It is alot more complicated to get it working than SLI aswell
