My PC cost me £700 with no screens or keyboard :( I think I might justify upgrading one day. That is unless I master Linux, which I don't see happening because it's annoying me already.

i have real copies of 95 / 98 / ME / XP (Home)

i have fake copies of 2000 & XP (Pro & Corporate)

Dear me, £185! Think I'll just sell the old PC and buy a new one with Vista preinstalled... :|

Have you seen all the things they are doing to stop pirates.

No doubt it'll be cracked before its rtm but they are doing things like not letting you use the net for more than an hour, already got all the wga, all versions, even corporate, have to be activated.

If they make it annoying enough a lot of people will either buy it or use xp.

Another thing to consider though is how much money do they actually lose.
How many people who run non legit versions would actually pay for it if they had to?

and who here is gonna pay for it? lol

I'm still using Win2K Pro!

Doubt I will get Vista, will probably just upgrade to Win XP or buy a laptop with Vista on it.

Intresting...

Doubt i'll be using it on my main system until they sort out the first service pack. Probably have it on my laptop which i only use at work.

i dont know about anyone else, but im genuinely considering buying home when i get round to getting a dx10 graphics card.

I dont have any WGA installed, but its a pain in the ass.
This might be my first legal OS

Oh, and you can upgrade via control panel at any time, obviously at a reduced price.

Just found out that the 64-bit version will not, as a default, let you install unsigned drivers......no choice, it flat-out prevents you.

Apparently there's an option to temporarily disable that restriction in the advanced boot-menu (F8 on boot-up), but still waiting to hear confirmation on that.

No, you can get third party remote desktops which will work. You can probably buy the Microsoft remote desktop too if you need it.

well aware of 3rd party remote desktop tools fella, just wondered if MSTSC would be omitted from the home versions.

Vista Home Premium is £184.99 inc VAT
Vista Business is £250.00 inc VAT

Here is a small price comparison from windows XP please note the prices i post are from ebuyer.

Looking below, Home premium doesnt seem to be a bad choice, and from what i can see it has media center built in?
