Originally posted by corsa-sxi i heard plasmas need to be recharged after a few years? also i love the look of the philips ambilight 42", saw it in curry's the other day, picture was just so sharp and detailed
heard wrong mate and wtf were you doing in currys looking at TVs? they couldn't show off a decent picture if they tried  Like said, development on plasma screens are still happening, just as they are on LCD - hence why they are slowly catching up to plasmas on the constrast ratio. But its also a reason why there are 1080p plasmas ;) Eitherway, as its pretty difficult to capture 1080p let alone watch it (and isn't bandwidth near twice that of 1080i?) and the cost involved to do both of these, i wouldn't worry about it for the next few years. Anyways, its a sore subject between the two different camps - and majority of people jump on bandwagons without knowing the technical reasons behind both types of screens (and the variations), so like said search around here, do a google and read some propper AV forums or LCD/Plasma sites
