I was consider a wii as well. Think there will be more games available for it that the missus and I can play.

i dont think it would matter if it was xmas or not cos everytime a console is realeased they sell out striaght away to normal people anyway, people buying the ps3 will be those who have been saving up for it etc, well the frist batch released anyway

MS tactically didn't include an hd-dvd drive and only released it as an add on.
If hd-dvd is beaten they just bring out a new external drive in a couple of years.
Sony are stuck.

it was going to happen though, the developers where saying that the test/dev gear was cack and they are way behind at the start of this year.
its has had a lot more downs (with the memory issues etc) that it has ups and sony are making it harder for themselves delaying the release. It wouldn't suprise me if microsoft release a HD/Blue-ray drive for the 360 - as it's currently three times as fast as the PS3 figures show ;)

just been informed by my local gamestation that sony have cancelled the launch this morning, and wont be coming out till '07
