Oh, forgot to mention, the above link, if installed on your server, will require anyone connecting to it to use a special client program to do so......for the Windows users, a free program called WinSCP (Google it) will do the job very nicely, and acts just like an FTP program but with the obvious extra security that SCP entails.

Jailed/chrooted SCP-only access works nicely, if the server is a Linux box and you have full control over it...
If it is a Linux box, then have a look here: --> (link)
If not, no idea, wouldn't have a clue about setting up a Windows/Mac server, as I have no interest in doing either...

and you need to do some settings in your ftp application iirc

Is there a way that I can allow access to someone so that they can ftp to my site, on a regular basis, but without allowing them access to everything.
Some sort of permissions perhaps?
