Take a look at thsi website:

It shows how you can move your music from your ipod to a new computer. It has both instructions for Mac and Windows.

My mate in work has got a shuffle and has just opened ITunes, browsed the songs saved on his Ipod. Right clicked song ' Copy' and pasted it onto the C:\ of his PC. Song is in .mp4 format on PC.

i hade this problem mate i dont think it can be done. i lost 150 worth of songs. have them on my ipod but cant seem to get them on my computer. apple tech support are usless.

That I can't answer as I don't have a copy of Itunes in work. There is options and preferences in ITunes for when you connect. Load up Itunes first and take a look at the options.
