Right after many hours, i have worked it out

I have managed to get the screens to clone eachother.

All i have to do is change the screen resolutions via the ATI toolbar thingy.

But i was wondering if there was a way i could get iit to do this automatically?

Like run a script for me if i pressed a key or something? so i can easily toggle between the two?

I used to run my Laptop screen at 1280 and my 24" TFT at work at 1900 or whatever it was. It was just an option in the ATI properties so you should be fine once you've downloaded the full ATI utlitie :)

ooo really nowwww.

Il have a look when i get in, is it really that simple!?

Not sure it is, because my monitor will be plugged in via DVI, and the TV via VGA, unless you can choose between them?

if youve got the ATI drivers installed with that ATI suite thing (ati icon in taskbar) you can choose which screen to use as primary, whethers its cloned or extended and then set the resolution independently for the two screens.

if you havnt got that icon head over to the ati website and get the control center i think its called from the drivers section.

i can run a projector and my 19" flat screen of my pc. Got a geforce fx 5959 cost about £100.

otherwise try going on display properties, select monitor/graphics card and change to 2 screen settings on 'clone' setting. Thats what i got and can see pc on both!!1

My TV only runs 1360x768, my monitor doesnt support this.

When i unplug the VGA for the tv, and plug it in for the monitor it automatically resizes, thats why i was thinking a switch would work?

I dont want to run my tv with DVI, VGA is better as supports 1:1 pixel mapping

are you able to run your monitor and LCD at the same resolution together - ie: lower of the two (which is 1280x1024)?

It might be the case, that the 9800 doesnt support the use of two different resolutions on the connections - if so replace the graphics card with something newer (if your LCD and monitor both support DVI, look for one with two DVI ports) or install another.

Or ive been looking into switch boxes, but the problem i have is that alot of them (havent looked everywhere yet) only support upto 1280x1024, my TV is 1360x768. I run my pc monitor at 1280x1024.

I dont want to spend the earth :(

Just got myselt a new SAMSUNG LCD tv for my room and i want to run my pc through it.

Now this isnt a problem as i have it working fine via a VGA cable.

But, i want to run my standard NEW LCD pc monitor at the same time.

My pc has a VGA and DVI output, but it doesnt seem to like running both at the same time??

I have access to another VGA graphics card, if i was to install this would it work? one card for the TV and the other for the monitor??:boggle:
