[/quote] toss mate, most screens will average 50 to 60 thousands hours - though it all depends how much you watch the screen afterall! As for brightness/constrast - most of the time out of the box, the screens constrast/brightness settings will be maxed, so poor setup leads to a lot of problems is this area - but once you've set it up right (around 50% for both constrast/brightness) then they will easily last you enough time before it gets replace - its not as if your going to have it 15years down the line, especially with technology changing so quickly like it is!! And dont say they suffer from burn in or leaking gas or any of the other rumours! :P :lol: However, CRTs are they way to go, shame that HiDef CRTs are few and far between :( [/quote]
