I saw a post once, someone left a pic of a naked woman up on one...

His mother was not impressed when she went to use the pc!

Depending on teh colour that is being displayed certain transistors will age more than the majority of others on the screen.
It's not a problem i've personally seen though.
My moitor sits on desktop for a large portion of the day and I have no problems at all.

Hammer

No, just rubbed it lightly for a few minutes with a piece of paper, left the monitor off for a while........really helped.

Lesson learned anyhow........MAKE SURE YOUR SCREENSAVER IS ACTIVATED!!

(Oh and don't use wallpapers with prominent white areas!)

phone the manufacturer up!
they came to my house and gave me another one, no questions asked.

All they wanted was the serial number, my phone number and address.

I've had the monitor off for a few hours and it's faded considerably!!!! Can still see it a bit, could be the daylight that makes it look worse????

Bit happier now anyway

I've never seen an lcd burn in, especially a new one.
Screensavers are remnants from the days crts had bad burn in.
Is it an old or cheap lcd?

Set your monitor to auto switch off after 15mins or so - though usually most monitors already have that feature to stop it happening :|

Dont think there is any real solution though tbh

Left my PC on for my housemate to use this weekend as I went home and screensaver wasn't on (was messing about with it the other day) :(

Its burnt the word 'Windows' from my desktop in the bottom right hand corner.

Anyway of reducing the lasting effects of it? It's not burnt it too bad but will bug me! Does it fade with time? Could I claim against my warranty?
