No, there are other possible problems. You'd be best off finding the format(s) it could write too first. However, DVD-R/RW are the more common format.

Are they + or - R/RW?
Your burner might only support + and you've bought -, or the other way round.

Ive tried everything, but still no success at all.

I do have a HP DVD writer.... but when i try and burn a dvd..it says the DVD i put in there isnt noticed...and please insert a new one.

the dvd's i have brought are RW and even R.
