The Windows Defender firewall is a definite improvement.

edit: Windows Onecare, rather.

from my opinion, MS Firewall does seem to block access for just about everything, very annoying, but exactly what any other software firewall does.

Admittedly i dont think Windows firewall is as configurable as say.. ZA, but still not bad.

As before, i dont use any other firewall than the one of the router.

Couldnt put it better my self.

Thanks

Whats funny?
ZA or windows built in?
ZA was good till it was taken over ages ago.
Windows one does the job.
NAT on my router is more than enough for me although it has a firewall as well.
As Bart, I wouldn't use anything at all if I didn't have a router.

Zone Alarm is a good free one. But if you have Windows Xp Service pack 2, and all the latest windows update patches, that should be enough.

do you use a router or modem?

Chances are if you have a router it will already have a software firewall built in anyhow.

dont use one myself.
