The Lost Coast demo was amazing.

Especially the light reflecting from the sun onto the wet sand and the fisherman's face :!

guys, launch steam, and go to browse games, and browse the hl2 mods.

Ive played a couple of other HL2 mods now, and they've actually been pretty good.
I think theres one called Meriva (or somthing similar), quite a bit of extra playing time.

As above, it's a demo of the technology they've developed since making Half Life 2......not sure about you, but in a tech-demo, I'd prefer to have everything condensed into a small area, so I don't have to roam across miles of landscape to search out all the new tweaks they've made (and possibly miss some of them in the process).

yeah, i expected it to be like the uplink thing for HL1. But after playing it with commentary on its more of a showcase for the new graphics stuff there doing.

Play it in "Commentary" mode, actually take the time to see what they've done......it's only a demo of the technology, it wasn't released as an extra part of the original game.

The "eyes adapting to light-levels" bit looks absolutely superb, as did the light in the church at the end, can't wait to see what they can make the next proper game-release look like...
