	the Xbox 360 does not support High Def playback. There is talk that a revised 360 will come out halfway through 2006 which will support it. I looked at that on the microsoft site. I'm aware that you can't play hd dvds on a standard player :lol: thanks John :thumbs:

	I don't think any dvd's support high def atm. Just can't fit it onto a normal dvd. The games for the xbox 360 will support high def. Could try and convince him to buy you one for that.

	HD-DVD and Blue Ray should be out next year. They won't be cheap at the start though. PS3 will have blue ray and then you should be able to get some nice hi-def films to watch.

	must be the wording. they are higher definition than a regular DVD as they're sampled at a higher encoding rate but they're not High Definition like you're talking about :)

	I downloaded some HD movie clips off the microsoft site and played them through the laptop using the DVI input on the back of the telly. They looked stunning! Just want some proper films to test out now...

	i thought that it was the contrast ratio too :lol: All i know is it is HD Ready and that's it. Presumably though to play an HD (or superbit) movie I would need an HD DVD player? :boggle:

	ey up corsasporters :D Parents just bought a high definition telly and we need a high definition film to play on it to see what it's capable of (the demo instore looked pretty damn good). None of the movies i have are high definition, on play.com there are 'superbit' movies that i think are high definition, is this right? Anyone know of any others that are available? Cheers
