i personally wouldnt bother, as you'd be playing with fire messing about with boot files.

But if you insist, take a read of this document.

why would you want to change it? It's on for a matter of seconds.

with something like del ( :look: ) it should be possible.
If you enter your bios (press del (not backspace) at the very beginging of boot up, when memory is checked etc) and go to Advanced Bios Settings (i think), and look for something like splash screen on bootup, or logo on bootup something along those lines.... you'll know if its the one because it will be enabled.

Disable that, save and exit.. job done.

Let me know if you cant find it.

Thats the Power On Self Test thing (POST).

Im pretty sure its hard coded into the CMOS Chip, a custom BIOS would allow you to change it however, if you know how to code BIOS

the bit at the beginning where it counts the memory and checks all the IRQs you mean?

Or the bit before windows where it usually says "loading windows"?

Not sure what its called but Im sure my description gives it away. What I want to know is possible to change it to something else? Ie at the minute it is Dell.

Thanks Mark
