haha, i remember you saying you had to learn 3d max :lol: in maya, you just had to add the texture to the object and make sure raytracing is on

Create an outline of the glass you want

Late it into a 360 degree glass, ensuring the middle is hollow.

Create a transparent material for it and apply it.

Create a lot of lights so the glass reflects them and appears (otherwise it'll be invisible)

Make the material raytraced reflections, then put random objects behind the camera and out of view to be shown reflecting in the glass.

I advise you read loads of tutorials - starting at www.3dcafe.com.
