The DELL CD will be Windows Home XP OEM, and the key that came with your computer will also be Windows XP HOME OEM, so in theory it should work.

a dell CD wont work they are made for dell boxes.
if you have a standard cd and your product key it will work but i am sure the dell cd will need a dell comp

I advise you not to download hardware drivers from Windows Update site. :o

Install the operating system of your choice and then just go to Windows Update. All off your drivers will probably be there. Make sure the special shop version is special so you can do this :o

Well if you dont have the CD theres 3 things you can do.....

Get the drivers off the Compaq website (they might have them all in the same place for your comp)

Or find out wots in ur computer and find the drivers on the internet one by one

Ask compaq for another CD

I tried an XP Home Ed off a MEDION lappy on a Parkard Bell lappy and changed the code to the Home Ed one off the PB but it told me to fuck off :o

*So i went the special shop for XP Pro* :o

Nah I haven't. It's running really slooooooooow though. Might just use System Restore and go to Factory Settings then...

So long as its home edition CD and a home edition key, wont work with a professional key.

You got the drivers CD for your comp?

Very time consuming if you dont

Might do a format on my machine at home. Will a Dell Windows XP Home CD work if I use the Product Key from my computer? I have a Compaq S5200UK machine at the moment.
