The DELL CD will be Windows Home XP OEM, and the key that came with your computer will also be Windows XP HOME OEM, so in theory it should work.

I advise you not to download hardware drivers from Windows Update site. :o

Install the operating system of your choice and then just go to Windows Update. All off your drivers will probably be there. Make sure the special shop version is special so you can do this :o

Nah I haven't. It's running really slooooooooow though. Might just use System Restore and go to Factory Settings then...

So long as its home edition CD and a home edition key, wont work with a professional key.

Might do a format on my machine at home. Will a Dell Windows XP Home CD work if I use the Product Key from my computer? I have a Compaq S5200UK machine at the moment. |
