the pal Version used less of the playstations internals to actually play the game so therefore they had extra room to add bits and pieces to it, when you change agame from NTSC to PAL it always happens thats why we get a little bit extra than the Japs and yanks do..

Also i believe it has something to do with the languages stored as Japanese is a more complex form of language where it needs characters not letters there fore the NTSC version has Characters letters and numbers compared to just the Letters and Numbers that we have coming up on our screen :|

And they also have to have about 40sets of characters as Japanese, Korean and the rest have different symbols for each letter :| but this only takes up part of the memory process :|

the jap version is the NTSC version :| The NA NTSC version had some bits removed for one reason or another, however the PAL version got extra bits.

i thought it was the other way round. All cars from the Jap version went into the NTSC version, with some taken out for the PAL

that doesnt matter dave, all cars that were in the NTSC version are in the PAL version, plus a few extras that the NTSC version didnt get :)
