I assume D is your DVD drive?
If it's telling you to insert the CD a lot, and refusing to work, then I'm afraid it seems like it's on it's way out. Luckily, DVD drives are dirt cheap nowadays.

it also shows up the "please insert disk error alot

Sounds like the drive is faulty/dying.
Windows XP always shows DVD drives as CD Drive under Type on My Computer.

But DVDs still work fine.
D: is a real DVD drive, and F: is a virtual DVD drive.

lol have u got 2 drives in the computer ie; this drive and a cd-rom or cd-writer - if you have you probably haven't set the jumper's correctly - as i'm assuming is hasn't found it in my computer or device manager - if so set 1 drive too master and one to slave - sorted :) dvd drives dont need drivers

For what OS? Windows XP shouldn't require drivers for a DVD-ROM drive (it appears you're using XP from the info your web-browser is providing us)...
