I think the MEDION CD is an OEM version. I did try and install it on my desktop at one point but it asked to be activated so put Windows XP Pro back on.

It might not work, the serial number will be an OEM serial, meaning you will have to have an OEM version of the XP CD.

Is it legal? I can't see why not because i have the code on the back of laptop but just incase i have to take it back the shop in the next 3 years.

I've got 2 laptops, one a MEDION and one a Packard Bell. Now, the PB one has the restore stuff on the HDD and no CDs but i wanna wipe out the HDD and install Win XP Home Ed. I have a Win XP disc off the MEDION laptop but wanna know if it will work on the PB one as i have a licence.
