some bios have the feature to boot up at a certain time, if the computer is connected to a network then it could be the Wake Up On LAN (WOL) feature where a network event can power up the machine.

I normally set my machines to power up if they detect a power source, this way in the event of the power going out... when it comes back on the machine will boot its self up.

no. im not talking about re-booting!

im talking about booting up from cold (completely off), i.e not pressing the on switch!

Ok, i have this computer problem where a computer at work will boot up all on its own.
Im not sure if this is a hardware fault or some kind of setting in the bios?

I googled it but there wasnt much about it, a few other people reported the problem but no answers :boggle:
