Originally posted by _Allan_ I can't get the fucker to work  I get a Visual C++ runtime error for the .exe when it's run from steam. I have seen this error from people before but for all sorts of other programs. I can't find a soloution. I have reinstalled, rolled back drivers, updated drivers, updated chipset drivers, updated and rolled back direct x, reduced AGP size. I have tried all soloutions suguested by people with similar problems but not with this game. I don't know what else to try and wondering if I have a dodgy copy. Can anyone tell me the size of their hl2.exe in both the half life directory and the counter strike source dir. Mine is 1,956 KB. They only thing I thought of was I installed the game initially fromthe DVD burner rather than the ROM. Fuck knows it's pissing me off
Sorry to hear that Allan. Anyway, my hl2.exe fle is 1.91mb. Couldnt find the Counterstrike Source dir. All i can think of is to uninstall Steam and start again, i had problems with Steam to begin with, since i had it for a while before i got HL2 today. Also,i thought there was something wrong with my CD key, but i was putting in too many digits  Good luck.
