well i bought a .co.uk and a .com for two years think it was £27 but i'll get the vat back so about 24 cant argue with that | |

www.compila.co.uk is the best I have found I have been with www.oneandone.co.uk they are too expensive and don't allow mail scripts unless you pay more. | |

if i register a domain name with 123 do they have any kind of hold over it ie could they one day take it off me? | |

Go to http://www.123reg.co.uk and use thier search function to look to see if the domain name (www.yourname.com) is available. If it is then you can regester, it's something like £10 per 2 years... Then you need to get website hosting, 123rg do this at about £5 per month I think which is all you need for a smallish website and can be easily upgraded. You can change service provider if you like, but it's quite complicated if you don't know what your doing. You need to update the domain names DNS file which you can do using the 123reg control pannel which you get access to when you register the domain. Don't worry too much about that though cos it's not important as most prices are the same these days... | |
