time taken to load dreamweaver mx 2004 - ~30 seconds

time taken to load notepad - ~1 second

notepad also uses fook all resources & runs a hell of alot quicker than DW, so its why I do the coding part in notepad - just works out quicker!

I'm using notepad alot more now

Use dreamweaver to knock up template ideas, then notepad to code the ASP script for the backend which then calls data from the file made in dreamweaver

15% work done in DW
85% done in Notepad

I've got dreamweaver already but I'm wanting something with some nicer templates, unless you can download add-ins for it?? It's MX 2004 I've got.

it really doesnt matter what you use mate, i can use a txt editor and produce quality designs if your just startin out then front page is what i would of said , dreamweaver may look god and hav millions of useless functions but at the end of the day they all do the same thing

Me and a mate are having a go at creating our own website. We've not done much web design before so I'm looking for some software that is simple to use but will produce a pro looking finish, not some 5 min front page creation.

Any suggestions??
