^yes this is what i thought... but this trillian thing downloaded and then installed fine!!! :boggle:

Download the software onto CD, load onto PC.

Thing is, if they have disabled the ports you wont be able to use it unless you know what ports to select in the setup. But, they may only ban the download of .exe which most companies do these days due to virus's.

allan is correct, your desktop has been locked down for the very reasons for what you are trying to do.

I don' think his problem is that the works firewall has msn blocked but the admin has put in place certain privileges for users. Only Admins can install/add programs etc...so even if Trillian was d/l it couldn't be installed.

we had this problem at worl where the blocked MSN messenger....we got around by d/l trillian - this is another chat program which accesses MSN messenger! works a treat

Don't think so m8, If your network admin has turned off the install feature then your pretty much screwed. You'll need an Admin password or a very good NT password cracker ;)

Is there anyway of installing a program such as MSN Messenger :o:o if you don't have an administrator log in? As it says something like "your network administartor has disabled something or another" :mad:

any way round it? :look:
