The old way of doing it was the printer manager - whose name escapes me - that you could install as a web application when you install IIS. As long as you're able to see the machine you can use this service to administer whatever local resources are installed on it. | |

yesh daimo, i have just installed the printer and shared it. edited the login.cmd in system 32 folder and put in a netuse command that maps to the server and authenticates the user so they can see the printer share! problem solved. | |

reet got a win 2k server on a LAN in one of our offices, it is not connected to the WAN and thus is not within the companys forest. What i need to know is will it be able to manage printers within this one LAN seeing as it wont be able to publish printers to an Active directory? |
