probably copied the shortcuts, like if u have a HDD thats V: on laptop with something installed, or a file, u have made shotcuts to, your PC will be looking for them on your V: drive,and u probably dont have 1

theres your problem

you need to install something like Roxio DirectCD on the windows 98 machine to read discs burnt in XP.

either that or download Nero & create a data cd with that, should then open up in the other machine ok.

yes i can read the cd on my laptop, it was created in xp and trying to open it in windows 98

not sure to be honest, just copied the files then clicked on write these files to cd and the wizard appeared

can you read the cd on the pc which it was created in.

also what software did you use top copy it & what versions of windows are you using?

i have copied the files to another cd just to ckeck and it still doesnt work :(

Also, yes the cd is in and the drive is working with other cds/dvds

i have copied some files from my laptop on cd-r. When i try and open the files on my pc is just says:

V:/ is not accessible

The drive is not ready

Please help!
