seeing my dad tomorrow so i will ask him to bring the manual over. I know the response time is lower now, but still not as good as CRTs for playing games with the current technology.

On majority of CRT screens, there is about a 1" difference between the size stated on the box and the actual viewing size, although alot of the newer ones a fairly close to the box size :) But with TFT screens, the size it says is the size you are going to look at....but a decent TFT will set you back about 400-700 quid still :( Plus, TFT's dont change screen size, so there pretty crap if you play games with a smaller resolution than your desktop - although the 15-17"s are pretty good @ 1024x768.

i thought there was about 1" difference between CRT and TFT. The 18" TFT was £430 i think from ebuyer. The monitor is an acer one, i got the handbook at my dads, i will check the model number and see if its any good, but I know its got more than just VGA connections on it though. I am looking for offers around £80, but open to offers, and as i said, i can take it to tne national meet if its any help!

icy- if you are talking about TFT's personally I would go get a 17" unless you have the money to spunk on 19", infact if you hold up a 17" TFT to a 19" CRT, they have the same viewing space!

Hard to get rid of because of the size and weight. I have a 17" sitting around looking for a home. I upgraded to a 14" TFT.
