thats why i asked how he was connecting to the line. If it is a PCI card in his computer then he could set up internet connection sharing, built into windows, which would do it all for him and save a lot of hassle. | |

obtain an IP address from where?? he isn't running a DHCP server so will have to manually assign static addresses. | |

what are you using to connect to the cable? a PCI card in your computer, or a standalone "modem" ? | |
