if its xp you can do it off you xp disc

do it in dos. use a boot disc and pic the option that allows you to put in command lines. then type FORMAT C i believe. You will lose all your data though mate. so make sure everything is backed up.

you could also put the hard drive into another machine. boot up and use windows on that pc to format the drive you have put in.

But do back up your stuff on the drive, before you go formatting drives :thumbs:

cant go into my computer as it says the drive is in use (obviously)

so how do i go about formatting it?
