My suggestions for a replacement for AOL: Zen Internet (biased, I work for them), Nildram (connection used to be with them, before I started working for Zen), or Eclipse...

you have to use there software no matter what, some people once found a way to connect without the aol software but aol soon became wise to this and stopped it.

there is an alternative called peng, but its only for linux

i have aol broadband, but don't wanna connect with aol anymore.
happy with the connection, but i'd rather browse with explorer.
when i try to start IE without aol running, it says cannot find server, although as it's broadband, it should be connected all the time right?

just wanna know if there's a way to get online without aol running?
was thinking i need the access numbers or something, but it's not dial-up anymore.

please help
