Ed, how have you got the iPad mounted in the plane - proper mount or do you just have it sitting on the other seat?

Hence why I said exactly that in my original post

Ok if you need to use that specific app on your iPad whilst you're out and about but I'd say thats a limited scenario and not worth an extra £100 to the majority of people.

Why would you need GPS on your iPad though when you've got one of those in your pocket too?

There's a massive difference between the screens. I went for the 2 with 3G as I thought the extra £100 was better spent on that for what I need it for, but if you're going to mainly be using in the house or somewhere with wifi then think about going for the 3.

I had my 3 next to my gf's mums' 2 and the difference in the screen was just amazing, it made the 2 look awful!

quote: I didnt notice a massive difference when I sold my 2 for a 3 apart from the obvious screen and bit faster. I would still recommend a 3 though as you will get more if you sell later and who can be bothered waiting such a long time until the 4.

The iPad 3 gets the retina display which really is noticebly better than the 2.. Other than that thought it depends how much you want to pay the extra :)
