Nip, still 10, then another 10 HD, yes that is a second 10 on top of the HD sub you already pay for HD on the main box.

I got mine just so I can use HDMI instead of scarf.

this is good news.
Have just had a house built and only cabled one additional aerial connection from my patch box to the bedrooms. I dont need to record in the bedrooms.

Is the monthly any cheaper for not having the recording facility?

Yes, I have one here.

It's a smaller box, has hdmi, ethernet and digital audio out.

I've not plugged mine in yet but I'm guessing ethernet is for anytime+.

The new boxes are, we have one in the bedroom

So I assume it will only require one aerial connection from Dish to box?

They won't, they suggest you use a 3rd party installer

Don't think they'll come out and install your box.

right manage to get a sky+ box so basically just need sky to sort the cable out from the dish to the room and activate it.

will this just be the £60 installation fee now then?

aslong as your dad has a quad LNB (if he has sky hd he will have) then just wire your own in, need 2 (or 4 if you want to record) f connectors, some coax (or shotgun coax if you want to record) and a skyhd box. if you use single cable you need to enable single line feed in the system engineers menu but its easy to get into a change.

I bought a Sky+ box off of eBay for £20 (£10 + £10 p&p) in December as my old one wouldn't record any more. There are loads on there from people who have upgraded to HD so don't need the old box any longer.

Plus the Sky techs will only run the new cables up the stairs or something daft like that as they don't do any cavity work.

Having Sky setup your viewing card and box is easy enough. All they needed from me when I setup my own was the box serial number and the number on the card they sent me and it was up and running in a few minutes.

Sky told us that local installers will charge less than it Sky engineers charge, so you may save a few quid. As said, don't get anything from sky direct, it WILL be cheaper to go elsewhere.

Only thing you'll need to go to sky for is getting the subscription set up/the viewing card.

Going through the same thing now

moving to my dads soon who has sky+ hd so looking to add multiroom to it in my bedroom.

he phoned up today and they said for a sky+ multiroom would be £250 for the box and £60 installation.
they offered a hd box that can't record for free and £30 installation fee.

is there any offers on to get the sky+ cheaper on multiroom?
