iPhone is best suited to AES rather than TKIP

Heres what its running at the moment.
SSID - SKY-WiFi
Region - Europe
Chanel - Auto (options are auto or 01-13)
Mode - 54g Auto (options are 54g Auto, 54g Performance, 54g LRS, or 802.11b Only)
Enable Wireless Access Point (ticked)
Allow Broadcast of Name (ticked)
Wireless Isolation (un-ticked)
Security options are
Disable
WEP
WPA-PSK (currently using this option)
WPA2-PSK
WPA/WPA-PSK
WPA-802.1x
WPA Encription is set to TKIP, options are TKIP, AES or TKIP+AES
I havent a fucking clue what any of that lot means. I could do with it being password protected as theres a few houses nearby that could pick it up.

can you change the encryption on the sky modem/router? I have heard WPA(2) causing issues and people had to revert to WEP.
Another option is to remove the security all together and use MAC filtering.

When using my iPhone at home on the wireless, the connection drops out all the time.
Not due to signal, it just disappears. Then when i try to reconnect through the settings menu, it just says 'unable to connect to SKY' keeps asking for a password even though its saved in the phone.
Is it likely to be a phone or router problem? Never happened with laptop thou
