Good site that, know a few people that use it.

And make sure you don't use one of those "offshore" (Indian/Filipino) companies.

Go to a contractor website
Ask people to bid for it, what they will do it for £££ wise. You can give them all the info of how many pages, functionality, whether you require a cms etc.
Ask them to show examples of previous work etc so you know you are getting a good deal.

When you accept the offer it works like any normal business deal, you pay x at each deadline on your timescale/when a part is delivered and the final sum at the end.

Ok so I need a web designer, what are the best routes of acheieving this, and how does it work ? obviously i have done a Google search, found some people, but I don't know if that is the best way of doing things ?

Obviously it's expensive as fuck to get a quality web designer for what I want, but what I do want, and what I'm looking for is going to cost a lot of money, probably to start of with around 5 grand. I am not tied to a business, and the website at the start is going to be a business, but it might develop that way.

So how should I go around doing this, any one here done it, or does web design etc ?
