Depends which bit of the file is corrupted. If its just the header or formatting information you can rescue the text, if the file is totally fudged then you dont have a chance.

Google it, there should be an answer there in one of the results. But, what I always do with college work, I save it in multiple formats (different copies) and make back ups, if its important.

my mates got a corrupt word doc (college assignment) which wont open at all. is there any way to fix it or open it to copy all the words.
