 Na, I used to do it all the time when playing COD4. I get far too wound up, it's really not good for me

 Also good to know its not just me. I've even been known to throw the game in the bin while shouting "fuck this shit game, im never playing on that again" Only to pick it back out of the bin, clean it up and play on it again a few hours later.

All my football manager games have experienced this treatment. I've also gone through a few keyboards and mouses in my time

Damn my bad temper!

I had a crazy idea while playing COD (not trying to rub it in btw) But when your game starts try pushing R3 analog stick downwards then hopefully should correct itself while gameplay commences?

Came to me when I thought of playing old computer games and how i read in the instruction manula if you held the analog stick in any direction it would stay like that through the game. So if your saying your analog stick is 'upwards' all the time when your starting your ps3 up. As soon as the game loads up, hold it down.

It's that crazy it might just work

the plastic on ps3 pads are really thin.

My R1 button on the PS2 controller used to always pop out as well. Weird.

Tbh I've got one of the original controllers, and it was thrown at the wall and broke into bits last week. Put it back together and voila! The R1 button flies out every so often as it hits the wall again, but apart from that it's ace  Just take it apart and fix it!

I'm actually very carefull with them, they are always docked in my charger when not in use so they don't get stepped on.

The only thing I can think of is that they're the early controllers without the dualshock.. maybe they were a bad design?

The last one that broke, I took apart and there was nothing obvious like a popped out spring or broken plastic clip.. I think it was the tiny potentiometer (is that the correct name?). I tried to replace it with one from an old PS2 controller but it was too fiddly :(

Didn't say othing about smashing them against the wall :o. Probably just do what Richard said to do, then that way your not losing anything :)

I don't think he's been smashing them against the wall. I think it is a common(ish) problem. With some peope if someone's playing call of duty and they go to the toilet during a game you can see their guy move very slowly

How to dismantle a PS3 controller

Richardhhha

posted on 8th Sep 09 at 10:41

i think you got to stop being rough with them tbh if this is the second one to go like this..

ive had my ps3 for 2 years now and i have never had a fault with it,

the controllers can be disasembled easely just take it apart as id dont work anyway so nothing to lose

My PS3 controller broke on Sat night :( its like the right anaolgue stick is being held upwards all the time now... very shit when you're trying to play COD

This is the 2nd one that's done this now since I got the console back in January. Has anyone else had this happen? Can it be fixed or is it curtains for another controller?

Pisses me off to think that that's £50 down the shitter now :(
