As John said, hold down the power button until it beeps a couple of times to reset the settings. Then plug in the AV cables and go into your settings and change it to HDMI. You'll get picture and sound that way, unless of course you change the output settings.

:boggle:

Holding the button for two beeps resets the output settings to whatever you're using, that's the whole point of it... Plug the HDMI lead in, hold for 2 beeps and sorted...

Doesn't really matter what you've got plugged in, if you unplug the av cables and just use the hdmi cable it should come up over hdmi though.

So at the min the AV cables (red, yellow & white) are plugged in, do i need to plug them in/out before i pres & hold the power button?

Hold down the power button on the ps3 for at least 30 seconds, a good while anyway.

It should come up on your tv asking you to set up resolution and sound etc.

The tv you have posted is some dodgy resolution but if you pick 720p in the options that come up on screen that should get it all working.

have you bought this 2nd hand? chances are its set to output at a non hdmi setting.

when swopping between tvs, i turned ps3 on, then plugged into ps3 then into tv, and it switched.

Plug in the composite cable that comes with your PS3 and check the resolution of the HDMI output, your TV wont show an image if its set to 1080P
