RAM upgrade definately but 1st.........

If its windows XP id start by turning off the fancy display features you dont need.

Go to "My Computer"
On the left hand sode click "View System Information"
Click "Advanced" on the tabs at the top
Click "Settings" under performance.
Click adjust for best performance.
Click "Apply" then "Ok"

Then id go to "Start"
Click "Run"
Type "msconfig" and hit "enter"
Click the "Startup" tab
Untick any programs you dont want running at startup.
Click "ok" and restart.

Try running a decent anti-spyware program through your system. Id recommend AVG anti spyware (its free)

Run a defrag on your hard drive.

See how you get on with that matey.

Needs more RAM and if Windows is running slowly perhaps a reinstall of that as well.

its pretty easy to fit, hopefully if you have 2 slots they are both accessible from the bottom of the laptop.

What Shep said, you have to remember though there is a limit on how far you can with laptops unless u want to spend a lot of money changing parts round that might not necessarily be cooled properly by an outdated cooling system.

In some cases its just cheaper to sell up and buy a better stock one

upgrade the ram first, its cheap and easy to do

Would it be better buying more RAM or just upgrading the processor?

Not got a clue with these things tbh

Its an Acer Aspire 3502LM

Intel Celeron M Processor 360
(1.4 Ghz, 400MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache
