i want to keep my current setup which is -

PC with all music on wired to the sound system

A remote system from my laptop to my speaker system so I can play music from my laptop which it gets from the PC hard drive wirelessly, so I can turn it up / down, change track without having to get up and change it on my PC

But like you say, unlikely there is anything out there....

Dont think theres any such thing tbh. and if there is it would be fooking expencive as it would have to have its own hard drive.

im sure you could get a remote for ure laptop, not sure on that tho.

Try looking at the bose companion 5's, they are surrounnd sound but from just 2 speakers, and a sub.

Ive got my 5.1 creative system in my room thats connected to my PC via wires. just wondering if anyone knew of any systems that i could connect to the sub and then play music from my laptop through the sub wirelessly (bluetooth i would assume fits the bill best) instead of having to use the laptop speakers and having to get up to change song from on my PC?

Cheers
